LG Gets Personal With New Smart TV

  • 27-inch frame
  • 3D Cinema display and IPS technology
  • Utilises In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology

LG Electronics has released news of its upcoming Personal Smart TV, the TM2792, which sports a 27-inch screen, Cinema 3D and Cinema Screen design that promises to give users a rich 3D viewing at home for immersive entertainment.

As well as the LG Smart TV functionality feature, the unit utilises In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology used by LG. IPS produces more life-like images, increased viewing angles, and detailed home viewing experience, claims LG. This means home-made videos can be viewed in full HD quality.

The 27-inch Smart TV is also touted to come with SmartShare, an LG technology that allows users to browse devices on the Home dashboard and share files from their laptops, smartphones, and external hard drives through the screen sharing functions of Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) and Intel’s Wireless Display (WiDi).

This MHL technology allows users to display photos and also play games from their mobile devices on the Smart TV while the phone is charging. WiDi assists users with wireless screen sharing on their laptops with DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct, allowing them to access and share their files stored on smart devices.

The TM2792 has a motion and wheel control called Magic Remote for content navigation on LG’s Home Dashboard. Content such as video on demand, LG Smart World, and the Social Centre can be accessed via the Home Dashboard.
