LG today announced that it's circular G Watch R will be made available in Australia for AUD$359 as of Monday. Harvey Norman, JB HiFi and Optus will all stock the wearable. Some retail outlets may receive stock as early as today. The G Watch R is also available through the Google Play Store for AUD$349 and can be purchased now. It will dispatch within two business days.
The G Watch R features a more upmarket design, ditching the plastic build and rubber strap adorning the G Watch. LG's new wearable is housed in stainless steel frame that encases the 320 x 320 pixel 1.3-inch OLED display, and adorned with a calf skin leather strap.
The G Watch R is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 500 processor, has 4GB of internal storage for music, 512MB of RAM and a 410mAh battery. The battery is expected to last about a day and a half. In addition to a gyroscope and accelerometer, the G Watch R will have be able to monitor the wearer's heart-rate. As with its predecessor, the G Watch R runs Android Wear and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance.
LG also announced that Lollipop, the latest version of Android, will be pushed out in December for the G3, other devices will get it next year.
