LG hasn’t been that active in the tablet race as of late but recent reports suggest that the Korean manufacturer might do a comeback this year with a tablet currently known as the LG G Pad.

According to the latest set of rumours, the tablet will have an 8.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. It will also reportedly have a thin and light body with a small side bezel and looks really close to the Nexus 7, only slightly bigger.

The tablet is said to have a quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. For now, that’s the only bits of information about the device. And we’re not also sure if it would keep the G Pad name once it is launched or if it would adopt the Optimus branding. The “G” naming convention first appeared when the company filed listings for G-branded devices including the G Watch, G Band, G Hub and G Glass to name a few.

Lastly, sources from Phonearena.com reported that LG is planning to unveil the tablet next month at IFA 2013 in Berlin.
