LG has launched its 84-inch 3D TV in Australia today. The TV is the first of its kind in the world.

The humongous screen comes at a whopping 4K resolution of 8 million pixels.

The 3840 x 2160 display is four times the resolution of Full HD TVs. LG has packed in its own Triple XD Engine and Resolution Upscaler Plus technology. The built in 2.2 Speaker System offers two 10W speakers and two 15W woofers.

It will include LG's passive glasses Cinema 3D technology plus all the Smart TV, WiDi, dual-core L9 processor, 2.2 channel speakers and LG’s Magic Remote.

Monster 3D TVs seem to be the new trend. Sony also has its own 84-inch 4K Bravia TV and other will likely follow suit.

“The UD TV market is still in its infancy but it is important for LG to show leadership in this space,” said Lambro Skropidis, Marketing General Manager, LG Electronics Australia.

“LG’s UD 3D TV represents a technological breakthrough with a whole new level of home viewing experience because it offers a collection of the most advanced technology. Whilst UD is the stand-out feature, we think people are also going to be really interested in the benefits of LG’s Cinema 3D Smart TV functions.”

This new LG TV will hit stores in Australia starting late November 2012 and will be priced at $15,999.
