Lenovo Announces ThinkPad 8 Windows Tablet

After releasing its consumer-centric Miix Windows 8.1 tablet, Lenovo is now targeting the business users with its newest 8-inch Windows tablet – the ThinkPad 8.

Unlike the Miix, the ThinkPad 8 offers improved specs that are intended to attract business laptop and tablet users. For starters, the ThinkPad 8 comes with a higher resolution screen at 1920 x 1080 pixels. It also comes with a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Z3770 chip (Baytrail), 2GB of RAM and up to 128GB of built-in storage.

The ThinkPad 8’s aluminium chassis also houses a micro-HDMI out, a 8MP camera with flash at the back, a 2MP front-facing camera, and a battery pack which according to Lenovo will last for about 8 hours. The tablet can also be equipped with a 4G radio.

The tablet also comes with stereo speakers with audio enhancing Dolby Home Theater, and comes loaded with Microsoft Office. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 will be available later this month starting at $399.
