Aussie-based Laser Corp has launched a new multimedia e-book reader that allows users to store and have access to tens of thousands of paperless books.

With MP4 capabilities, the lightweight, portable EB101 is fitted with a 5-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screen and allows users to store and view photos, watch video and movies in full colour, as well as listening to music – even while reading.

Additionally, with the EB101 e-book files and content can be shared with friends, rather than having to continuously download from the web. Fully licensed, the EB101 Digital Rights Management (DRM) functionality ensures access to supported content for playback.

Apart from its full colour TFT screen, the EB101 has 2GB of memory and allows for 16GB with Micro SD memory card expansion. Readers can also select text size and orientation of the screen, and due to its compact size it can be taken anywhere fitting snug into a compact handbag.
