Kogan’s Agora 4G Pro is a souped-up budget smartphone
Online retailer Kogan today unveiled its latest own-brand budget smartphone, the Agora 4G Pro. Retailing for just AUD$299, the handset features a 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p display, 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
Other specifications include a 13MP rear-facing camera, 8MP front-facing camera and a 2500 mAh battery.
Importantly, the Agora 4G Pro supports the 700MHz frequency used by Telstra and Optus' new 4G networks, in addition to most other Australia 4G frequencies.
Of course, the low price tag comes with a couple of compromises. While the Agora 4G Pro runs Android Lollipop 5.0, it likely won't be upgradeable to newer software, much like Kogan's previous devices. The phone itself is 90mm thick, somewhat larger than many other modern devices.
The Agora 4G Pro is available for pre-order from today, and will begin shipping on July 2. Shipping is not included in the handset's AUD$299 price.
