The NBC version of popular local sitcom, Kath and Kim is getting an emergency rework after studio execs raised concerns that the show would tank with US audiences.

The show, starring Selma Blair and Molly Shannon, has been put under the knife for some remodelling after US media group Horizon predicted that the series would not appeal to US audiences. The show’s director, DOP and hair and make-up team have all apparently been replaced pending the changes.

The first episode is being re-shot and reworked for the October 9 premiere where it will debut amongst NBC’s Thursday evening comedy line-up. Rumour has it they want to de-Kath and deKim-ify the series.
