With Steve Jobs tipped to reveal the new 3G version of the iPhone at Apple’s Developer Conference on Monday, the rumour mill has been going into overdrive that Aussie Apple lovers will be able to pick up an iPhone in the coming week.
However if Jobs does reveal the new 3G version of the iPhone on Monday, industry pundits tip it will be at least a month before the phone ships for sale given previous company history – eg it was a month after announcement that Apple shipped the Air.
The new 3G iPhone is tipped to have further support for corporate mail and allow iPhone users to add third-party applications to their devices making it more appealing to business users that would normally use a Blackberry device.
The tastiest leak however comes from the folk at Wired who claim that the 3G iPhone would be 22 per cent slimmer than the original; that it will come with GPS functionality; be sold in 16GB or 32GB versions and will feature better battery life.
