Huawei’s Android Wear smartwatch could be the best looking wearable yet
Huawei today announced the Huawei Watch, a stainless steel Android Wear-powered smartwatch. Much like LG's G Watch R and Watch Urbane, the Huawei Watch has a completely circular screen, but matched with a design more reminiscent of the Moto 360. The wearable's 1.4-inch screen is protected with sapphire crystal, which Huawei claims will make it scratch proof.
"We have responded to consumers’ requests from around the world asking for a smartwatch featuring a timeless design that is truly smart from within," said Richard Yu, Huawei Consumer's CEO. "As the first smartwatch in our expanding line of premium wearable products, the Huawei Watch was designed and created to enhance and be part of the consumer’s everyday lives."
At 400 x 400 pixels, the Huawei Watch has the highest resolution display on an Android Wear device to date. Other specifications include a heart-rate monitor, motion sensors, a Qualcomm 1.2Ghz processor, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and a 300 mAh battery.
Huawei has confirmed that the Huawei Watch will be available in Australia, but is yet to confirm pricing or timing. The Huawei Watch will be available in silver, black and gold with the choice of stainless steel or leather straps.
