HTC hits the right note with Aria

HTC Corporation has just released the Optus-ready Aria – a pocket-sized smartphone with a 5-megapixel camera, 3.2 inch HVGA display and Android functionality.

Pre-loaded with widgets such as Friend Stream that aggregates all of social communication suites including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates means the Aria makes it easier to focus on friends as well as to view the images and links that they share.

The Aria also has an improved browser, email client, a new newsreader application and widget, as well as the seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens.

Along with being small at just over 10 cm long and weighing 115g (battery included), the Aria offers a full selection of Google services via the Android 2.1 OS such as Google search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube.

The HTC Aria will be available from mid-October from Optus stores and approved dealers with plans starting at $0 upfront on the $49 Optus Cap plan for consumers or the $49 Business Complete Advantage plan for small business customers, both over 24 months (Minimum total cost is $1176).
