HP might be planning to get back into the smartphone race as the company’s Senior Director of Consumer PCs and Tablets for Asia-Pacific, Yam Su Yin has told The Indian Express that HP is currently working on several devices and that one of them is possibly a smartphone.

Yam Su Yin also added that there are still things that can be done in the market and that the company’s decision to re-enter it is not late. Moreover, Yin mentioned that once HP releases a smartphone, it will give a differentiated experience that offers a different set of propositions to consumers.

At this point, HP has not given a timetable on when it plans to release a new smartphone and what kind of device it will be. But a lot of people are guessing that it might be an Android device, given that the company has come up with a 7-inch tablet and an AIO computer and has recently been rumoured to be working on an Android-powered laptop.
