HP will be issuing a mandatory update for owners of WebOS devices by 6th June via an automatic update to the Application Catalog.

HP will be issuing a mandatory update for owners of WebOS devices by 6th June via an automatic update to the Application Catalog.
The update will replace the security certificate on WebOs that is scheduled to expire on July 23, 2013. The certificate is needed by the system to use cloud services like Backup/Restore and Application catalog. The update will roll out starting June 6 via and will automatically replace the certificate once the catalog is run.
Users who are running WebOS versions earlier than 2.1, or wants to manually install, they will need to go to the App Catalog and select the app called “HP App Catalog Update”, download and install it on their device.
In case a user fails to get the update, the user will need to set the system time on their device back to prior date to July 23, 2013 and follow the same procedure stated above to update the certificate.
