Hayu is Australia’s newest streaming service

NBC Universal will enter Australia's already crowded streaming video on demand market with a service catering to reality TV fans. Dubbed Hayu, the service will launch in March with over 3,000 episodes of shows including Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Made in Chelsea, The Real Housewives and The Millionaire Matchmaker.

NBC says the majority of U.S. shows will hit Hayu on the same day as they air internationally.

While Hayu may seem quite niche in appeal compared to broader streaming services such as Netflix and Stan, NBC has priced it AUD$5.99 per month. For comparison, Netflix starts at AUD$8.99 per month, while Stan is billed at AUD$10.

A concrete launch date for Hayu has yet to be set.
