Halo film postponed

With recent news that film studios Fox and Universal pulled out of the Halo film, Peter Jackson was adamant the production process would continue going forward.

Since then, Peter Jackson has called a halt to his multi-million dollar Halo movie less than two weeks after the initial announcement.

Jackson and his partner Fran Walsh and Microsoft announced they had agreed to postpone the $NZ192 million ($166 million) feature film, based on the top-selling Microsoft science fiction game.

“While it will undoubtedly take a little longer for Halo to reach the big screen, we are confident that the final feature film will be well worth the wait,” the couple and Microsoft said in a statement.

Pre-production has been underway for the film at Weta Digital and Weta Workshop for the past year, but no film crew or cast had yet been hired.
