Halo 3 beta suffers glitch

One of the most anticipated betas of all time, Halo 3, has suffered a few technical problems.

Many gamers have been waiting for its arrival for several months, but the much-anticipated release of the Halo 3 multiplayer demo has suffered some technical problems, meaning that many gamers are yet to get their hands on it.

Some sites are reporting that the beta could be delayed for as long as 24 hours.

The problem only affects those who are trying to access the demo via copies of fellow Microsoft title Crackdown.

Bungie’s website, which itself is struggling in the face of massive traffic, posted the following message this last night:

“Folks are reporting problems downloading the Halo 3 beta via Crackdown. We have alerted the appropriate Live authorities and they are taking care of the problem as we speak. With any luck this will be a short delay.”

“We understand many of you were eagerly awaiting your chance to jump into the Halo 3 Beta and this technical issue has put a damper on your plans. Thankfully the fix is incoming and we’re sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Ultimately we hope this will all soon be a distant memory once you pick up the Spartan Laser, launch yourself from a Mancannon and enjoy online shenanigans with your friends.”
