Google has launched a Help for Hacked Sites informational series, which features numerous articles and videos with the hopes of helping people to keep their sites malware and spam free.

The topics included in the series gives emphasis on why cybercriminals hack websites, some background information on spam and malware, working with a web host to recover a site, and how to clean and maintain a malware-free site to name a few.

The series is led by Google’s very own Webmaster Tools team and is part of the company’s initiatives to cut down on hacking. A related effort by Google worth noting is its Pwnium hack event which gathers white hat hackers all over the world in an attempt to find any exploit on Google products and services (this year it was about the Google ChromeBook), which will then be used to develop patches to lessen the product’s vulnerability.

For webmasters and web site owners, this program will prove very helpful to you. Do you have any additional recommendations or features you would want to see in this series? Share us your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
