Google is reportedly ditching the Nexus brand for what is known to be Android Silver.

Unlike the current Nexus line, Android Silver devices will be offered to consumers with no third-party bloatware and will provide timely OS updates to consumers in the same manner Apple pushes updates to its iPhones.

The first handset to bear the Silver brand is expected to launch by February 2015 and will reportedly be another LG creation. The handset, which is previously expected to be named as the Nexus 6, is rumoured to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and will be available on Sprint in the US by next year.

Google I/O is set to take place towards the end of June so we’ll keep our ears open for announcements during the company’s annual developer conference.
