God immune to prosecution

An American judge has thrown out a lawsuit against God, saying that a plaintiff must have access to the defendant for a case to proceed.

The case was filed by Ernie Chambers, a senator for the state of Nebraska, who is considering the ruling closely before submitting an appeal.

Chambers told the court that they had acknowledged the existence of God and “a consequence of that acknowledgment is a recognition of God’s omniscience”. He then reasoned that as God must have known everything, God would also have been served with the lawsuit.

Senator Chambers sought an injunction against the “death, destruction and terrorisation” caused by God, but Judge Marlon Polk rejected the action.

“Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant this action will be dismissed with prejudice,” Judge Polk wrote in his ruling.
