GE Claims World’s Slimmest Projector Camera
- Contrast ratio of 300:1
- 70 minutes of projection time
- 7x wide angle zoom lens
GE PJ1 is a pocket-sized shooter featuring a built-in pico projector that beams photos, videos and other multimedia content onto almost any surface.
The camera utilises a state-of-the-art Texas Instruments’ DLP projector, which offers a contrast ratio of 300:1 to deliver whiter whites, blacker blacks and bolder colours.
Designed for shooting and sharing holiday happy snaps or fun family videos, it can also connect to a laptop for broadcasting business presentations to work colleagues or bringing other digital content to life. Focus is controlled by a sliding lever on the camera’s top, the rechargeable li-ion battery delivers a 70 minutes of projection time, and in a darkened room projection size can reach up to 70 inches.
At just 21.2mm thick, the PJ1 is the world’s slimmest projector-cam but don’t be fooled by its size. Aside from being a convenient portable projector, the 14.1 megapixel PJ1 is also a capable shooter with a 7x wide angle zoom lens (28-196mm) and a host of intelligent features including automatic face recognition and exposure adjustment, smile and blink detection, red eye removal, pan-capture panorama and optical image stabilisation. To ensure camera settings are optimised for every scene, there are more than 25 shooting modes to choose from.
The slick black PJ1 also records 720p HD movies which can be played back on the camera’s 3-inch high-resolution LCD screen.
A charging base for the PJ1 can be used to stand the camera up during presentations and includes a concealed fan that cools the unit during prolonged use. The PJ1 also comes with a remote control.
