Vodafone today launched Compass, with new features and content to support the Garage Sale Trail. Vodafone Compass is a ‘map app’ for iPhones, BlackBerrys and other smartphones, customised to help bargain-hunters when they hit the streets on Sunday, 10 April for Garage Sale Trail – Australia’s biggest simultaneous garage sale.
Vodafone has updated the Vodafone Compass app to make it easier for garage sale fans on any mobile network to plan their ‘Garage Sale Trail’ route, view itemised lists of trash and treasure for sale. Through a combination of technology, stealth and old-fashioned haggling, they can bag that bargain.
In the spirit of thriftiness, Vodafone Compass is free to purchase for customers with an iPhone handset (standard data charges apply to download). If you’re a 3 or Vodafone customer, Vodafone Compass is also available on a range of other handsets, including BlackBerry.
The national Garage Sale Trail is a community initiative promoting recycling and sustainability through the launch of hundreds of garage sales across the country on one day. With over 30 Australian Councils on board, Sunday April 10th will see thousands of savvy shoppers take to the streets in the hope of snagging a vintage bargain at their local garage sales.
Vodafone Compass offers users the easiest way to find a garage sale bargain near them. Real 3D mapping and location tracking will pinpoint hundreds of registered garage sales across the country, plus provide images of the sellers’ items, as well as surrounding restaurants, shops, bars, ATMs and other cool things you might want to find.
