A leaked internal document from a major US retailer hints that Samsung’s Galaxy Gear Smartwatch may not be doing well in terms of sales and adoption.

The smartwatch is bundled with the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, but according to the leaked document, majority of the smartwatches sold in Best Buy are being returned at a rate of 30 percent. This means that people are buying the Galaxy Note 3-smartwatch bundle, but majority are choosing to keep only the phone, once they have given the Galaxy Gear a test run at home.

Reports claim that Best Buy is already calling Samsung specialists to investigate the high return rate. The poor performance of the watch is especially troublesome for Samsung, since the watch is only supported by a number of Samsung phones at the moment including the Note 3 and the Galaxy S4.

If people are not finding a reason to purchase the watch with the company’s top of the line handset, there’s a good chance that owners of lower-spec’d devices won’t feel the need to use the device as well.
