Fujifilm Updates X100’s Firmware

Fujifilm recently announced a free dedicated firmware update for their X100 camera that is designed to dramatically improve its performance and enable photographers to capture images more conveniently. The Fujifilm X100 Version 2.00 firmware updates is now available and includes the following improvements.

 

Fujifilm recently announced a free dedicated firmware update for their X100 camera that is designed to dramatically improve its performance and enable photographers to capture images more conveniently.

The Fujifilm X100 Version 2.00 firmware updates is now available and includes the following improvements.

  • AF Speed will be increased by approximately 20 percent for bright scenes, dark scend and changed focus distance.
  • The focus distance from the lens surface has been increased by around 30 percent before switching to macro mode
  • Addition of Focus Peak Highlight function that assists with accurate and sensitive manual focusing by enhancing the outline of a subject in high contrast.
  • Improved operability by means of displaying an image with a shallow depth of field using open aperture to more conveniently capture the focus peak when using the electronic viewfinder.
  • Start-up time has been increased to around 0.2 seconds
  • Selecting Focus Area operability – with the firmware update, pressing the AF button switches to the focus area selection screen where users can select the area of choice.
