Free App For Smartpens

Pencast App for iPad and iPhone Can access digital copy of synchronised notes from anywhere Available immediately

Livescribe, maker of the Echo and Pulse smartpens, has released the free Pencast Player application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

The app enables consumers to access a digital copy of their synchronised notes and audio as pencasts from anywhere. Now notes and audio from critical meetings or lectures are portable and playable when you need them.

Livescribe’s Echo and Pulse smartpens capture everything consumers hear and write and provide access to important information by tapping on written notes directly on paper, on a computer using the Livescribe Desktop software or on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running the Pencast Player app.

“Fast information access is a key advantage of the Livescribe platform,” said Byron Connell, Livescribe chief marketing officer. “Pencast Player lets consumers access their written and spoken information on the go with their favourite Apple products.”

Pencast Player lets anyone access pencasts posted on Livescribe’s online community, regardless of whether they have a smartpen or MyLivescribe account. Registered customers with a MyLivescribe account can also access from their Apple device any pencasts uploaded to their 500MB of personal storage.

Pencast Player further advances interoperability between the Apple and Livescribe platforms, claims the manufacturer. It enables consumers to reap the benefits of both smartpen and smartphone technology in one seamless experience. Pencast Player is available immediately, free-of-charge, in the iTunes store. The application works with all iPad devices with iOS 3.2 or higher and all iPhone and iTouch devices with iOS 4.0 or higher and requires iTunes 9.2 or higher.
