Foxtel to start streaming TV in partnership with Seven

Foxtel in partnership with Seven West Media today announced that the two companies will be launching a new video-on-demand serviced dubbed Presto Entertainment. Presto Entertainment will feature content from Foxtel, Seven, 7TWO and 7mate.

“We’re thrilled to be taking these next steps with Seven West Media to establish the new Presto Entertainment service," said Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein. "TV is the final piece in Presto’s entertainment puzzle and today’s news positions us well to take it to the next level by offering the best in local and international TV to new and future subscribers.”

A media released stated that Presto Entertainment's line-up will feature a "broad range of locally commissioned and internationally acquired content including drama, comedy, factual and entertainment programming", but no specific shows were named. Specific programming announcements will be made in coming weeks.

Pricing for Presto Entertainment has yet to be announced, but Foxtel is presently charging AUD$9.99 for Presto Movies, its movies-on-demand service. Presto Entertainment will be sold as a separate subscription to Presto Movies, but customers will able to bundle the two together, presumably at a reduced rate.

Presto Entertainment's announcement follows Netflix's announcement of a March 2015 for launch in Australia and StreamCo's reveal of Stan
