Foxtel offering no-contract subscriptions until end of June
Foxtel this week announced a promotion allowing new customers to sign up for its pay TV service without a contract. Traditionally, Foxtel plans are sold on either a 12 or 24 month contract, whereas the new offer lets subscribers cancel the service at any time.
The pay TV provider is offering five pre-built packages without a contract, starting at AUD$25 per month. New subscribers will also be hit with a one-off installation fee of AUD$75, and a minimum hardware fee of AUD$75 for Foxtel's iQ2 set-top box. Customers hoping to upgrade to Foxtel's new iQ3 will face an AUD$125 hardware fee instead. As such, the minimum upfront cost for the first month of service is AUD$175.
Foxtel's drama package, including hit programme Game of Thrones, is billed at AUD$45 per month.
Foxtel's no-contract promotion ends on June 30, and does not apply to its broadband bundles. All fees are paid a month in advance, and any cancellation will occur at the end of a subscriber's monthly billing period.
