Former Capcom developers establish new studio

Atsushi Inaba, the former CEO of the studio which produced Capcom hits Viewtiful Joe and Okami, has established his own development outfit.

Operating under the name Seeds the new company has more than 50 members of staff, including Hideki Kimaya – the director of Devil May Cry – and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.

Many other former Clover employees have taken up positions as composers, artists and character designers.

The closure of Clover Studio, which was established in June 2004, was announced in October last year. Capcom said it had taken the decision as part of plans to “concentrate management resources on a selected business”.

Seeds has yet to reveal details of its first project and it’s not yet known whether the studio will have links to Capcom. Clover will officially close its doors next month.
