Among the many smartwatches and smartbands in the market today, Samsung’s Gear offerings are probably the most feature-packed. Aside from telling the time, the watch is also capable of doing a number of things including sending text messages straight from the watch.

But with such a small screen, the Gear smartwatches isn’t really finger-friendly. Enter the Fleksy messenger – a predictive keyboard that doubles as a dedicated messaging app for Samsung’s Gear 2 smartwatch. Fleksy previously developed the same keyboard for the Galaxy Gear, but now that’s Samsung has switched to Tizen, an update to the app was needed.

The app is capable of accessing a user’s SMS conversations and contacts and lets the user to send and receive text messages directly from the watch. It uses algorithmic prediction when choosing which word to use when a user taps on a key.

The Fleksy Messenger is now available on the Samsung Apps Marketplace for free and is currently compatible to the Gear 2 only.
