According to reports Facebook might be planning to acquire a new company that will allow it to provide internet access to remote parts of the world much like Google’s Project Loon.

Titan Aerospace is a company that makes solar-powered drones that can stay in flight up to five years and has cruise range of around 4 million miles. Facebook is reportedly planning to equip each UAV with the same technology as Google balloons.

The acquisition will reportedly cost around $60 million, but there’s no definite time yet on when the two companies will sign the deal and what the terms of the purchase are.
