Note-taking service Evernote updates its apps on all platforms and reset all user passwords after information including usernames, email addresses and passwords were stolen in a security breach last February 28.
Evernote announced on their official blog that their Operations and Security team has discovered and blocked suspicious activity on the Evernote network that appears to have been a coordinated attempt to access secure areas of their servers.
The company did emphasise that no content was accessed, changed or lost, and that passwords stolen in the breach are protected by one-way encryption which makes them difficult for hackers to crack. However, they do advise users that they will be asked to reset their password the next time they log in and they will be given advice on selecting a secure password or phrase.
Evernote also said that they have released updates to several of their apps to make password changing easier for users.
