Evernote today announced a much awaited feature in its app which users have long requested for – reminders.

Reminders are used the same way as any reminder functionality in smartphones and apps. Users just need to click the clock button which is placed at the top-right of the note on Mac and web, and at the bottom of the note on iOS devices, add a time and select if they want an in-app alarm only or if they want it with an additional email when a reminder is due.

The note title will also appear in a new section at the top of your note list, and users can reorganize Reminders by simply dragging them around. Once the task is complete, a simple swipe or tap on the check will remove the Reminder from the notes list.

For business users, you’d be happy to know that Evernote Reminders is also supported in shared notebooks. Evernote also makes a few other suggestions for Reminders such as birthday or doctor’s appointment reminders. At present, the feature has only been rolled to the Mac, Web and iOS version of the apps but expect to get the update soon on other devices including Android and Windows Phone.
