The introduction of Microsoft’s Windows 8 has in a way changed how PC manufacturers build computers. Specifically, the touch-based user interface of Windows 8 has pushed PC builders to incorporate various types of technology to maximise the platform’s potential.

One particular company that has recently contributed to this change is Corning. The company today announced its newest cover glass – Gorilla Glass NBT which is designed to help protect touch notebook displays from scratches and other forms of damage.

According to Corning, Gorilla Glass NBT provides enhanced scratch resistant, reduced scratch visibility, and better retained strength once a scratch occurs to help protect notebook displays form breakage that can occur in lower-performing soda lime glass.

Corning Gorilla Glass NBT is currently available and is expected to be featured on a number of notebook models by leading global brands later this year.
