Classic RPG Final Fantasy VII now available on Android
Iconic roleplaying game Final Fantasy VII is now available on Android smartphones and tablets for a somewhat premium asking price of AUD$24.99. As with last year's iOS port, the rerelease includes a number of tweaks that let players turn off random encounters and instantly boost characters' stats.
Final Fantasy VII follows the story of Cloud Strife, a wild-haired mercenary who joins an eco-terrorist group to fight against Shinra, a megacorporation using the planet's life force as an energy source.
It's worth noting that Final Fantasy VII is a pretty sizeable app. Over 4GB of free space is required to download and install it. Final Fantasy VII is compatible with smartphones and tablets running Android 4.3 or better. It's on sale now through the Google Play Store.
Final Fantasy VII was first released for the original PlayStation in 1997 to widespread critical and commercial success. Since then, the game has been rereleased for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and iOS. A full-fledged remake is due to be released on PlayStation 4 next year, with major changes to the game's battle system.
