The two heavy-weights of the smartphone industry are at it again with their newest flagship smartphones. On one hand, we have the Galaxy S5 from Korean while on the other we’ve got the recently launched Taiwanese contender – the HTC One (M8).
Both models were designed to be upgrades from last year’s models and as such bring only minor improvements compared to their predecessors. And so right now, it seems the battle between the two handsets will fall on who made the bigger upgrade compared to last year.
On Samsung’s side of the ring, notable new features added to the S5 include a finger-print scanner, a heart rate monitor, a newer SoC and a bolder new design. Meanwhile, HTC’s additions to the 2013 HTC One (M7) include a slightly bigger screen, a newer chipset, a more stylish and polished exterior and a secondary rear camera that comes with some special effects.
