CES 2016: Fitbit Blaze is a fashionable take on a fitness tracker

Much like the Apple Watch, the Fitbit Blaze supports proprietary interchangeable bands, each sold separately.

The Fitbit Blaze is available for pre-order now ahead of a March launch, retailing for AUD$329.95. Customers will have a choice of black, blue or plum elastomer band. Additional bands will be sold starting at AUD$49.95 for elastomer, AUD$169.95 for leather, and AUD$219.95 for stainless steel.

Fitbit's announcement coincides with Samsung unveiling rose gold and platinum cast versions of its Gear S2 smartwatch, and Huawei revealing two female-oriented Huawei Watch models. These almost concurrent announcements suggest manufacturers as a collective are beginning to take more of a fashion-first approach when it comes to the design of wearable technology.
