CES 2012: Logitech Cam And Cube

By Branko Miletic

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (CES) has kicked off exhibiting some cool social media communication products, including a couple of  interesting products from home entertainment specialist Logitech.

The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 has been designed to provide professional grade Skype and video calling capabilities with full-HD 1080p.  It has been made to deliver HD recording with one click uploads to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, while putting less demand on the computer, due to the use of H.264 encoding.

With its dual microphones designed to capture natural stereo audio, it will retail in Australia for $149.95.

The other Logitech release is straight out of the history books and has been designed to enable people to multitask their IT gear. Known as the Logitech Cube, it is a computer mouse that incorporates all the expected functionality of a mouse into a new shape.

Made to point, click and scroll like any traditional mouse, when the Cube is lifted in the air it turns into a projector presenter.  With the Logitech Unifying receiver, users can connect up to six compatible devices with a wireless connection (up to 25 metres).

In other words, the Cube works with your other Logitech Unifying devices without taking up another USB port.  It also has a USB-rechargeable lithium-polymer battery.
