Google has released a new app that works with its Google Plus Hangouts that lets attendees of the Hangout capture pictures as the video group call is in progress.

Unlike conventional screen capture apps used by most users, the Capture app has a few features that go well with Google Plus itself. For starters, the app can take photos using a single click and saves the images to a shared album that is visible only to other hangout invitees.

Users can view these photos while inside the Hangout, by browsing their photo albums or by visiting the original hangout post. And most importantly, everyone in the hangout will be notified whenever the app is opened and whenever a picture is taken so no one will be surprised to see their wacky pictures posted online.

For now, the capture app is only expected to work with Google Plus but taking into consideration the recent developments in augmented reality and wearable technology, a possible application of the capture app may involve its use in Google’s Glasses in which users can capture images of what they see using the futuristic head gear.

The Capture app is already being rolled out to Google Plus members and will soon be available worldwide.
