Communications Minister Stephen Conroy has announced a call for tenders for the national high speed broadband network.

The announcement brings the federal government one step closer to fulfilling its promise of building a high speed network that will deliver high speed broadband to all Australians.

The project which is slated to come in around the 4.7 billion dollar mark, will represent the largest investment into broadband in Australia’s history.

Says Conroy: “This is a major step towards delivering on the government’s election commitment to enable world-class, high-speed broadband for all Australians.”
