Bose revamps multi-room speakers with Bluetooth connectivity

Bose has revamped its entire family of wireless multi-room speakers, adding Bluetooth connectivity to the suite of refreshed products. Headlining the range is a new small speaker dubbed the SoundTouch 10, said to the feature the loudest, fullest, and clearest sound of any speaker of its size.

Unlike other small speakers, the SoundTouch 10 is solely designed for in-home listening. As such, it has not been ruggedized, and has no integrated battery. Bluetooth enables users to send music straight to the speaker without any additional set-up, whereas its wireless capabilities allow it to pair with other speakers in the SoundTouch family.

"The combination of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is better than either alone," said Bose Australia retail training manager Sam Carter. "Every single SoundTouch product now has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi"

After the SoundTouch 10 is setup as a wireless speaker, users are able to configure six hardware preset buttons that can be used to instantly start playback of a playlist or Pandora station. Spotify support will be added early next year.

The SoundTouch 10 is available now and retails for AUD$299. New SoundTouch 20 Series III system and SoundTouch 30 Series III system are also available for AUD$499.00 and AUD$799.00 respectively.
