BlackBerry Q10 To Hit Australian Shelves By July 1

BlackBerry today announced the launch of the new BlackBerry Q10 smartphone in Australia, the first BB10 smartphone to sport the classic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry today announced the launch of the new BlackBerry Q10 smartphone in Australia, the first BB10 smartphone to sport the classic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard.

The Q10 features 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot, a 3.1-inch touch display with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 330 pixels per inch. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

In the camera department, the Q10 sports an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and a 5-element f2.2 lens. The rear camera can capture 1080p videos and comes equipped with BlackBerry’s Time Shift mode for pinpointing and adjusting individual elements of a picture. There’s also a front-facing 2-megapixel camera that can capture 720p videos.

Aside from the said features above, the Q10 being a BB10 device also comes with BB10-specialised apps and features including BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Balance, BBM and BlackBerry Remember.

The Q10 is expected to be available for purchase with competitive pricing plans from Optus and Telstra on July 1 and 2 respectively and from retailers Harvey Norman and JB HiFi.
