After a video leaked last week, BlackBerry has now announced the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982.

The announcement confirms most of the things we’ve heard about the device including its internals, which are almost identical to the BlackBerry Z10 on which it was based on. The P’9982 sports a premium design with a body crafted from a mix stainless steel and leather.

Due to the metallic body, the P’9982 is slightly longer and thicker than the Z10. And it is also slightly heavier tipping the scales at 140g compared to the Z10’s 137.5g. The P’9982 also has beefier storage options at 64GB which is expandable via a microSD card.

The device also runs a more operating system – BB OX 10.2. But other these, this premium BlackBerry handset gets the same component as the Z10 including a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chip with a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, Adreno 225 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and a 1800mAh battery.

The BlackBerry Porsche Design has a suggested retail price of 1,450GBP or around 2,481AUD starting November 21. The BlackBerry Z10 on the other hand is priced around $566.
