It looks like Blackberry has finally got their app store up and running.
With Apple having its own online app store for its iPhone it is no surprise that Blackberry are doing the same in the very near future. their own store called Blackberry App World.
Called Blackberry App World, Research In Motion is keeping mum about when the store will be ‘open’ for business, but pundits guess within the next couple of days as back in October the company was touting a March launch.
Users will be able to personalise their BlackBerry smartphone with games, social networks, personal productivity applications and more. They can message their best friend, track the stock market, or channel your inner rock god. None of this is earth-shattering stuff, but it will allow third party applications to be loaded. What RIM’s cut of these new apps will be is unknown at this stage, but if it is anything like the Apple contracts there will be plenty of money made by all.
