Reports say the BlackBerry is already preparing the update to its OS10 mobile operating system which runs their latest flagship model, the Z10 and their upcoming QWERTY-based younger brother the Q10.

The Q10 is expected to go on sale next month bundled with the new operating system – BlackBerry 10.1. The OS update will also reach the Z10 but the version that will go on the Q10 will of course, have optimization designed for the device’s hardware keyboard.

The update will reportedly bring significant improvements in the camera department including faster performance and HDR picture mode for better low-light performance. There are also hints of an update for BlackBerry Link that allows users to access files stored in their PC.

Other notable features include Mnemonic phone dialling, BlackBerry’s Mobile Voice Support System Support, keyboard shortcuts, BlackBerry Balance, Word Prediction, Type N Go, Corporate Liable Feature, Cross Domain Email Warnings, dark theme support, Out-of-Box experience and Smartcard support.

The BlackBerry Q10 is expected to go on sale in Canada on April 30th so if you own a Z10 expect the update to reach your handset on or after the 30th.
