BBM For Android And iPhone Now Rolling Out

Last week, BlackBerry’s Frank Boulben announced that BBM will be rolling out in a few days. Fortunately, BlackBerry stayed true to its word this time around and has started sending out emails about the app’s availability. Those who signed up at BlackBerry’s website for early notifications for the app’s release were the first to receive the emails.

The app is already available for download on Google Play and Apple’s App Store and will ask the user to create a BlackBerry ID (for first time BBM users).

According to the email the user should enter the email address used during the initial sign up to check if they can already start using the app.

BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iPhone is compatible with devices running on Android 4.0 and iOS6 or higher. Unfortunately, tablets are still not supported. As with BBM for BlackBerry, the app will also use data so BlackBerry suggests checking with your service provider for costs and restrictions.
