BBM For Android And iPhone Hits 10 Million Downloads In Its First Day

BlackBerry Messenger’s roll out on Android and iPhone yesterday was a bit of a bittersweet moment. On the plus side, the number of downloads on both Google Play and Apple’s App store skyrocketed to a whopping 10 million, with the app rising to the top spot in more than 75 countries in its first 24 hours including the US, Canada, UK, Indonesia and most of the Middle East.

On the plus side, the number of downloads on both Google Play and Apple’s App store skyrocketed to a whopping 10 million, with the app rising to the top spot in more than 75 countries in its first 24 hours including the US, Canada, UK, Indonesia and most of the Middle East.

Moreover, BlackBerry says that the app has earned over 60,000 five-star reviews on Google Play from about 87,000 users. On the other hand, a number of users were disappointed with the long waiting queue with some users waiting for their confirmation emails for hours.

BlackBerry is expected to bring Voice and video calling, as well as a new feature called BBM channels in the future.
