Australian LG G4 owners can expect an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow starting from mid-November, following an international rollout that begins next week. Timing will however vary depending on where a G4 owner bought their handset from, as each telco has their own testing processes to run beforehand.
LG's 2015 flagship will be one of the very first non-Nexus phones to receive the latest version of the Android operating system. The LG G3 will also receive Marshmallow, but timing has yet to be revealed.
Select HTC devices should see an update before the end of the year, and Motorola has confirmed a number of its smartphones will be upgraded to Marshmallow, but has yet to provide timing.
Marshmallow introduces a more granular permissions model, a battery saving feature called "Doze", and a context aware version of Google Now dubbed "Now on Tap".
