Apple has finally released its turn-by-turn navigation software for Australians.

The feature came after some delay. It was originally scheduled to release in Australia in October.

The turn-by-turn navigation function can be enabled by downloading a small, over the air update. It lets you receive voice navigation while driving with Siri's.

The release couldn’t have come at a better time since Nokia has just announced its Nokia Here mapping platform for both iOS and Android. Also, Google isn't planning to release an iOS Google Maps app.

Since the release of the iPhone 5, there was a lot of uproar on the below-par Maps. Apple boss Tim Cook even offered a formal apology over Apple's initial rollout of Maps.

The service has been improving daily and the increased competition will surely drive Apple to make more improvements and faster.
