The Razer Blade and Maingear Pulse have got some new competition in the slim gaming laptop market – the Asus ROG GX500.

The laptop sports a 15.6-inch 4K IPS display that is capable of showing 100 percent of the NTSC colour gamut, thanks to the VisualMaster technology infused by Asus. The GX500 weighs only 4.9 pounds and has a very slim profile at just 0.75 inches. Nonetheless, the device doesn’t compromise on performance as it packs an Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M graphics.

The GX500 also comes with intelligent dual-fan cooling system for efficient and effective heat management. It also features automatic game optimisation, ShadowPlay and the ability to record segments of a game which can be uploaded later to a user’s social networks.

The ASUS ROG GX500 is expected to ship sometime in Q3 2014 for around US$2000.
