Asus’ more affordable two-in-one device – the Padfone Mini 4.3 has now gone official in Taiwan.
Designed as the cheaper alternative for the Padfone Infinity 2, the Padfone Mini 4.3 boasts similar specs with other mid-range phones on its price bracket. For starters, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip with a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU. The phone comes with 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.
As the name goes, the Padfone Mini 4.3 comes with a 4.3-inch Super IPS display with qHD resolution. It also has 1GB of RAM, support for two SIM slots, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, A-GPS and GLONASS. At the back of the device sits an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 lens and BSI sensor, while a 2MP camera is located at the front.
Furthermore, the Padfone Mini 4.3 comes with a 7-inch tablet dock as standard. The dock’s screen has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (216 ppi pixel density) and its own battery rated at 2200mAh.
Asus plans to ship the Padfone Mini 4.3 to other markets in Asia and Europe including China, Russia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore. There’s no word yet on an Australian release, but pricing is expected to be around AU$450.
