The multi-mode laptop is now officially a trend. The latest PC maker to adopt this design style is Asus with the announcement of the Transformer Book Flip.

Just like offerings from Acer, HP and of course Lenovo, the Asus Transformer Book Flip has a hinge that allows the display to bend beyond 180 degrees granting the device the power to assume different positions including a tent-mode, a tablet, a media-viewing mode and the traditional laptop mode.

The device will be offered in various configurations including 13.3-inch Core i3 model and a 15.6-inch Core i7 model. Screen resolution starts at 720p for the Core i3 variant and goes up to 1900 x 1080 pixels for the top of the line model. The device will also have an Intel HD 4400 graphics plus an Nvidia GeForce 820M/840M card with up to 2GB of VRAM.

There’s 4GB of RAM with an option to expand up to 8GB of additional memory. In terms of storage, the laptop will have up to 1TB of HDD storage and up to 256GB SSD. All models in the line-up will run on Windows 8.1 and will be available starting this month initially in Europe and Asia.
